| South Bruce Peninsula appoints Deputy Mayor to fill Vacant Mayor’s Seat 09/20/2023 The Town of South Bruce Peninsula has decided to appoint Deputy Mayor Jay Kirkland to fill the vacant seat of Mayor following the resignation of Previous Mayor Garry Michi. The options before council at yesterday’s meeting were to appoint a member of Council to fill the vacancy, to appoint any member of the public eligible to fill the seat and to hold a full by-election.
