Fire At Lion’s Head Foodland 08/29/2023\| Firefighters were on the scene today in Lion’s Head battling a blaze at the local Foodland... around 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 29, Lion’s Head firefighters received word of the blaze which started on the exterior of the building. The fire proceeded to work its way into the walls of the grocery store and into the basement.... no injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was a result of maintenance work being done on the outside of the building.... South Bruce Peninsula Mayor Garry Michi Resigns 08/29, 2023 South Bruce Peninsula Mayor Garry Michi has resigned from his seat on council. The Town issued a statement this afternoon saying the resignation is effective immediately.... The Special Meeting of Council scheduled for August 30th at 2pm has been cancelled.
